Hephaestus

His parents were Zeus and Hera. He was the only god on Olympus that was born with a physical birth deffect. When Hephaestus was born his mother was so disgusted with him that she threw him into the sea, where he stayed for nine years. Some say that he broke his leg when Zeus kicked him out ot Olympus to the island of Lemnos. Hephaestus wanted Athena for his wife, but she refused him, and Aphrodite is generally considered the wife of this defomed and lame god ; he was the father of Eros by Aphrodite. He is the god of fire, volacanoes, and the forge. He was also the gods blacksmith. He was the patron of all craftsmen, principally those working with metals. Five of his most famous creations were:
1. The arms of Achilles
2. The arms of Aeneas
3. The shield of Heracles
4. The necklace of Harmonia
5. The scepter of Agagmemnon
His symbol is a quill, and he carries a sledgehammer and an anvil. He wa sugly in appearence, but a maker of beauty. He was a skilled blacksmith and artisan. He is the only Olympian to be exiled from Olympus and came back. And that is our webpage!
