
Hermes

Hermes Trimegistus is his name. Hermes was born in Mount Cyllene in Arcadia (now part of modern Greece.) His hieght is 5'11". His wieght is 520 pounds. His eye color is blue. His hair is blonde. Hermes is the messenger of the gods in Greek mythology. His Roman name was Mercury. He is also known as god of flight, God of boundaries, shepherds, cowherds, thievery, travellers, invention, general commerce and literature. He is a prankster and inventive genius from birth, Hermes aided the heroes Odysseus and Perseus in their quests. Hermes was the son Zeus and a mountain nymph. On his very first day of life, he found the empty shell of a tortoise and perceived its utility as a sounding chamber. It was Hermes' job to convey dead souls to the Underworld. And as patron of travelers, he was often shown in a wide-brimmed sun hat of straw. Hermes was known to the Romans as Mercury. Hermes wields a magical wand called the Caduceus which enables him to control beings less than gods, transform objects into gold, and channel magical energies.

We enjoyed learning about Hermes. He is a very interesting god. We learned about his powers, where he was born, his hieght, his wieght ,and more.
